EITA Resources 2Q net profit surges 25 times, share price hits record high
KUALA LUMPUR (May 24): EITA Resources Bhd, which saw its share price hit a record high today, announced that its net profit for the second quarter ended March 31, 2017 (2QFY17) surged 25 times to RM5.49 million or 4.22 sen per share, from RM216,000 or 0.17 sen per share a year ago.
In a filing with Bursa Malaysia today, the elevator systems manufacturer attributed its big jump on profitability to the group recording a lower unrealised foreign exchange loss on fair value valuation of its forward exchange contracts in the quarter under review.
