Croatia is ageing wine underwater and selling it for £270 per bottle
An underwater winery in Croatia is selling its wine for £270 a bottle.
Located an hour north of Dubrovnik, the red wine is stored in clay pots called Amphorae, where they are kept underwater for around 2 years.
They are kept at depths of 20 metres in cages where the constant warm temperature is meant to give the wine a unique taste.
Wine from Edivo Vina – the underwater winery – is said to have a different taste to one that has matured from a cellar, often described as having a “pinewood aroma”.
